“The atmosphere that Jill has created at Synergy is so welcoming and full of friendly faces that
I’m comfortable modifying most of the exercises without feeling completely ridiculous”.
– Breezy, Synergy Member
Meeting Breezy you’d never have any idea of the challenges that have shaped her life. She has
an amazing positive demeanor and contagious energy, and it’s hard not to feel happy in her
presence. But Breezy has endured a life of pain after being diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid
Arthritis when she was 10 years old. She was told she’d never have children and would
ultimately be confined to a wheelchair.
But Breezy is a fighter and she not only has a 13 year-old son named Bryan, but she is also very
active and able to enjoy physical activities with him, including skiing. “He is the most amazing
thing in my life”.
Breezy’s Rheumatologist suggested that she strengthen the areas around her affected joints
and she found that help at Synergy. “Jill has been so amazing at carefully adapting the exercises
I can do. She knows how to motivate and encourage me.”
Since working with Jill, Breezy is able to perform everyday tasks that were previously out of
reach. She still has pain in her shoulders, wrists, neck, feet, and elbows but now she doesn’t
have to ask for help for household tasks she wasn’t previously able to do on her own. “It’s also
been amazing to be able to put my jacket on without assistance because of the increase in my
range of motion. These small tasks may sound silly, but I’ve wanted to be self-reliant for
decades and not have to wait for someone to come home and help me. I’m so grateful for
Synergy!”
