“The community of dancers is proud and connected. It’s not about being the most beautiful, it’s
about sharing joy in the same space.”
-Reina Tashnick, Synergy WorldDanz Jam instructor
Reina has been dancing and singing since she was three and has focused on many genres of
dance at different points in her life: tap, hip-hop, belly dance, latin, cheerleading (her team won
the National Championship her senior year)
She began musical theater in 4 th grade and performed in two shows a year, giving her a strong
performance and teaching foundation for later in life.
“Dancing brings joy and joy is contagious, it’s a reset button. You go into class with all of the
worries of your roles (wife, daughter, mom, etc.) and come out with a clean slate. It’s a gift to
your family; you leave that space a better version of yourself.”
There have been times in her life when Reina stopped dancing, but she was always drawn back.
When Reina returned to dance in 2019 she discovered Synergy, where she found “women
helping other women feel like themselves again”, and an amazing, supportive environment.
“You can see what makes Synergy special just by watching how new dancers are welcomed.”
Reina’s teaching philosophy is to meet students where they’re at and show them what they can
do through encouragement. “I tell them I can guarantee they’ve done much harder things. I
want them to show up for themselves with love”.
