This workshop is a fun and useful introduction to the typical technique used in many Modern Dance classes. We will study the philosophies of the great Modern Dance pioneers through the art of movement. Classes will include center work, locomotive work and combinations, finishing with a relaxing warm down. Leslie’s goal is “for you to enjoy yourself, to take something away you can use again and feel rejuvenated”.
Leslie Wagner hails from the East coast where she obtained her undergrad from Boston Conservatory of Music and her Masters in Modern Dance Education from Temple University. She has extensively studied both Jose Limon and with the Martha Graham Dance Company. She has taught Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Improvisation for over 25-years, choreographed several musical productions, designed the curriculum for the Hamilton Performing Arts Center in Ohio and ran her own dance school in Kenia, Alaska, where she also served at the Juneau Dance Theater for 16 years.
To our good fortune she now resides in Aptos and is anxious to share her incredible talents with the Synergy community!
